About Me

Helping is in my nature. As a child, I loved keeping elderly customers company in the waiting area of my father’s auto repair shop. In my teens, I enjoyed providing supportive services to hospice clients facing end of life as a home health-aid. From there, I went to work with emotionally disturbed youth and their families in rural Kentucky through a state mental health initiative. I also spent 2 years in the U.S. Peace Corps, volunteering in Guatemala, Central America. There, I developed a deeper appreciation for cultural diversity and human commonality. I also spent 4 years working on a local organic vegetable farm! Later in my career, I worked in community mental health settings, serving marginalized people with severe and persistent mental illnesses.

Through life and clinical experiences, I have become a well seasoned clinician able to address many types of needs. I approach all people with compassion and deep listening to honor their differing stories, needs and backgrounds.

I am an artist/creative, health and wellness enthusiast, planet lover, who enjoys both serious contemplation and silly humor, values social justice, and believes in the inherent worth and dignity of all persons, no exceptions. I provide affirmative care to members of LGBTQIA and BIPOC communities. I work to practice cultural humility to the best of my ability and am always striving to improve.
