Out of Network Benefits

I do not participate directly with insurance companies, but many patients opt to use their out-of-network benefits to seek reimbursement.

PROS:

• Out of network allows you to see any provider of your choosing.

• Your insurance pays a portion of the fee. You pay the difference, saving you money compared to paying completely out of pocket.

• You do not need a referral or pre-certification.

• Many insurance companies cover up to 60-70% of the fee. For example: If your insurance pays 70%, you will end up paying only $43.50 of the $145.00 fee per session, once reimbursed.

• No frustrating scrolling through the insurance covered providers lists, which are often outdated, and/or inaccurate.

CONS:

• It is generally more expensive than in-network providers, in which you pay only your co-pay.

  For example; If your insurance company provides 70% reimbursement of Out of Network fees, you would pay $43.50 per session. But, let us say your co-pay is only $30.00 per specialist visit. In this scenario, each session would cost you $13.50 more per session by going Out of Network.
